The Hot Spot
If there is one place in our house the girls love to be, it's sitting at the craft table. It has definitely become the hot spot in our house. When Teya wakes up in the mornng, the first thing she wants to do is paint. Brinley is the same way. She wakes up and says, "I cuh-luh?" (Which, in case you don't speak baby, is "can I color?")
Teya knows where all her supplies are and she will just pull out everything on her own and get to work. She literally paints at least two masterpieces a day.
I love that they gravitate there and it's forced me to think of more fun things they can do there besides just color. Yesterday Teya and I made bracelets and necklaces with chocolate Cheerios. She was so patient threading each little Cheerio onto the yarn.

Food art seems to be the most popular, although Brinley tends to eat most of her supplies.
Here's a fun food project Taber did with Teya. A marshmallow village made with toothpicks.

It doesn't really matter what they're working on, they just love to be there. Sure when Brinley joins the fun we get the occasional wall art mural, but Mr. Clean Magic Erasers take care of those and it's worth it to have an outlet for them during these cold winter months.

That is such a great idea. I wish I had the space in my apartment to get a little table like that...Miley would love it!
Wow Becca!
Those are some impressive art projects. I think you have some budding little artists there. You know it runs in families. Your Dad was quite the artist in his day. He hopes to pursue it again when he retires. Can't wait to see the girls in a few more days. They are so adorable!
Hugs and Kisses!
Mom
I love that table! I saw it Costco a while back and wished I had to space for it! I love the arts and crafts, Teya is at a fun age for that kind of thing, I'm sure she loves it!
I LOVE LOVE your cute MIckey Mouse table. Chenoa would be sooooo jealous if she knew those existed. haha. Your girls are so cute. Way to teach them how to be creative! Looks like lots of fun!!!
I love your ideas! I really should do things like that with Na'u. She gets sooo bored at home. She doesn't really watch tv but loves to read. You inspire me Becca :). Na'u loves it when we leave the house and do something. She's so cute cause she knows when we are going home. She knows the route so when we're on it, she starts saying "NO HOME MOM. NO HOME."
Becca you are such a great Mom! So creative with your girls; I loved doing projects as a kid but I forgot about most of them. Thanks for the future great ideas :)
Wait wait wait- they make CHOCOLATE CHEERIOS???? I have GOT to get me some of those!
I loving having a table always available for arts/crafts, etc. (unfortunately ours is our kitchen table). I think having stuff readily available/accessible to the kids makes a big difference. I love how Brinley loves requests to color! Henry always wants to join his older siblings too. You and Taber are so good to get involved and do little crafts with them, too - my kids would love it if I did that more.
