Celtics Fan Wannabe

On Wednesday night Taber got some tickets from work to go see the Celtics play the Miami Heat. I don't think we realized how intense Bostonians are when it comes to their teams. We were used to the Timberwolves games where people came to hang out, not necessarily watch basketball. Totally different story with the Celtics. From the minute we walked in the stadium and beheld the sea of fans donning green jersey's we realized that we weren't in Kansas anymore. My blue shirt was like a flashing sign that said, "I'm from out of town, shun me!"

Okay, so maybe no one was really shunning me, but I definitely wished I had at least worn something green! It was awesome being there though. The Garden is an impressive venue, and the Celtics did not disappoint. The game was tied or within a few points the whole time but the Celtics pulled it off, even without Pierce. We also learned some valuable things about sports in New England. Such as, Don't talk on your phone during the game or the fans might kill you (happened to a guy near us.)

It's cool being in a city with such great teams. I'm excited to watch them play again, although next time I'll try to dress more like a real fan : )

You definitel are in the right city for good sports teams! Cameron MIGHT be jealous, except for the fact that he hates all the Boston teams...lol! Seriously though...you should have a lot of fun watching some winning teams! I am kind of jealous myself... :)

How fun! I'm laughing about the crazy Boston sports fans - I noticed the same thing when we went to a Red Sox game there. It makes it so much fun, though!

That's so funny! Yes, I would at least play the part and pretend to be a fan next time! They may have just let you off easy as a first offender! ha ha
It reminds me of when Jason & his brother were in N.Y. They're both big Angels fans and went to an Angel vs. Yankee ball game at Yankee Stadium. They jumped on the subway w/ their red Angels shirts & hats on and then realized their mistake. They quickly took off their hats and covered up - especially later that night on the subway trip back to their hotel. MAJOR fans around there. Don't mess with 'em!!

haha Tau can't believe you guys got to go to a Celtics game. He is already planning our trip out there. I guess Boston has a lot of great sports teams. I am just excited that if we do come (that is if we are invited) I don't have to travel alone this time. :)
