Treadmill Triumph

Yesterday I had to run 12 miles for my half marathon training.
Several things came up and I wasn't able to do it outside.
So I ran 12 miles on my treadmill.
Normally I would post this sort of thing on my running blog but then I thought,
12 miles on a TREADMILL?!
I just had to share that triumph with everyone : )
p.s. and I think I burned enough calories to justify the giant chocolate texas sheet cake a made for myself tonight : ) mmmmm....

Holy Cwap! How long did that take you? I made texas sheet cake today too. But I sure as heck didn't run 12 miles to justify it!

It took me an hour and 50 minutes. Yeah, kind of a long time to be on a treadmill. But at least Taber came down a couple times to check on me, bring me a sweat towel and tell me I was looking good. : )

Sadly the treadmill has become where we do most of our running. Even most of our long runs. It's not bad though- I actually kind of like it. I know that sounds awful, but I just throw on a movie and zen out!

Wow. So impressed! I refuse to ever buy a treadmill b/c I know I would never use it...I do good to last a mile on it.

YUCK!!!!!!! :) But that didn't beat those nice OUTSIDE runs at Starring Lake! Ha! Way to go! I ran outside on Saturday for the first time in like 6 months. I forgot how much I like it. This baby is slowing me down to like a 10:30 pace. Oh well! I just can't give it up, no matter how slow I go! Keep up the awesome training!

I am super impressed!! Your 1/2 marathon must be just around the corner if you ran 12 miles today. When/where is it?

Jess, nothing beats those outside lake runs! I miss those so much! There's a lake like that around here but it's a 40 minute drive, maybe when the weather gets better!

Jamie, my race is this Saturday in New York. I'm getting excited!

WOW! That is amazing! If I ran like that every day I could eat whatever I want! Hmmm.....

Holy Cow! that is crazy, and amazing! I struggle just to get to three miles on the treadmill...I can't imagaine 12! I would love to burn 1800 calories in one go! You're my hero! :)

Wow! That's impressive:) You're AMAZING! Let's trade some of my sewing skills for your hotness! Sound like a plan??? I sooooo want a treadmill. Any suggestions?? I find it really hard to get out and get a good run w/ two kiddos...and by the time Gaylon gets home from work and school it's dark and I'm just not interested. And where we live, I'd just have to do laps in our neighborhood b/c it's just too steep down our roads:(

You're my hero. If I was in school and they were making me write an essay about my hero, you'd be it. The title would be "My Hero, Becca Rigg." The end.

I totally agree with the comment before mine! You are my hero too!!! I am really interested in starting running myself and to hear you weren't a fan before and to be where you are now is very motivating!!! Good luck this weekend in New York!!!!

Holy cow girl! I CANNOT wait to hear about your half next week. Update soon! ; )

This may be a bigger accomplishment than the half itself. Really.

Wow! 12 on a treadmill? That is a victory! Did you have a good show going in the meantime or did you just listen to music? Good luck in your upcoming half this weekend! I hope there is good weather for you. I'm excited to get back into running in another 20 or so weeks...halfs are my favorite!

You are awesome. I need to get into running. Everyone who does seems to rave about it. Right now it is ZUMBA for me--so fun! Congrats on being out of debt! That must be a great feeling. Maybe Taber can become a motivational speaker!
