Friday Fotos: Homemade play-doh and 6 fingered mom

The other day my friend Laura came over to watch the girls so I could go for a run. As I was walking out the door Teya said, "I want to play with play-doh!" "Sorry" I responded, "You guys left the lids off and now it's all dried up. No more play-doh"

Then I walked out the door and forgot all about it. When I came home however, what did I find on my counter? A tupperware container full of bright blue homemade play-doh. Laura decided to be the awesome babysitter of the year and make the girls some homemade play-doh! They were pretty happy, and I was inspired to be a better babysitter!

I love this 2nd picture because it really captures what my girls hair usually looks like. Teya with her scraggly fly away hair that never stays in a pony tail and that she generally refuses to let me style. Brinley with her own little fuzzy mop that requires a spray bottle to tame but often doesn't get it because she's too busy with other stuff to get her hair brushed. I swore if I had girls they would ALWAYS have their hair done, slickly combed, styled, and accessorized. HA! As if....

And now, a little gem. Brinley is learning to count and I got a clip of her counting my fingers. Apparently she saw one more on there than I normally do. I thought it was pretty cute : )

That video is so cute! Brinley is such a little smarty pants...seriously, I need that girl around to teach Miley how to talk! That's awesome your friend made play-doh. I wish I was that good with kids! And I love the hair comment too...it is so hard to keep a girl's hair looking good! Miley's usually looks good in the morning but then competely goes to pot after naptime, and I don't even bother to fix it again cuz it is too much WORK! :) We miss you guys around here...it looks like your house maybe sold cuz I don't see a sign...ok sorry about the LOOONNNG comment! :)

This is probably random, but this post reminds me that I have a recipe for homemade playdough that you color with kool aid. It smells great. Kind of wishing I was the type of lady who would just whip that stuff up and let her kids go for it...maybe tomorrow!

I VOWED that whenever I finally had a girl, she would be pristine and adorable every day! The girls hair looks like a squirrel inhabits it everyday. Oh well, at least most of the time she is clothed!

What an awesome baby sitter. Did she give you the recipe? I would love to make some play doh with Noa. I can't believe Brinley is already counting. What a smart little girl.

I love the video! It makes me so excited for hazel to talk. You're girls were adorable, I love hanging out with them.

I just did a half recipe of this one I found online.

NO - COOK PLAYDOUGH

1 c. water
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
1/4 c. oil
Food coloring

Combine ingredients in bowl and mix. Add more flour if mixture is too sticky. Store in a plastic zip-lock bag.
