When Taber and I were setting up our Boston agenda
there was one major priority on my list: Food.
As a true foodie, I judge the awesomeness of a vacation by how good the food is.
With that in mind, I will say, Boston was A-MAZE-ING!
(aka: delicious ; )
Before we left I asked some of my friends who had been to Boston
where the best places were to eat.
Several people mentioned the Italian restaurants in the North end.
Two specifically mentioned Giacomo's. So of course, we had to go.
I will now add my recommendation to that of others,
if you go to Boston, eat at Giacomo's.
It's worth the long wait in the street.
And the butternut squash ravioli is divine.

After we hit Giacomo's we were told by pretty much everyone that we HAD to get dessert at Mike's Pastry, which was just down the street. That place also had a huge line but Holy Cannoli!! It was WORTH it!!
Some cool pics of the Opera house at the top of this collage. On the bottom, me with one of the actors during the intermission and me in front of the Marquee sign.
Another highlight was driving out to Salem, MA where the witch trials were held. It was a cool city with lots of history and it was nice to be able to walk along the beautiful harbor. The first two days we were there it rained a lot but we finally got some nice weather and were able to spend some time outside.
The whole weekend was a lot of fun. Taber had business for part of it but we were also able to do some fun things, see some great sights, and of course, eat some amazing food : )

I was always partial to Maggianos...close to the theatre...awesome ravioli there too!
There was an L&L's Hawaiian BBQ in the works near Harvard a few years back, but not sure if it ever got built...and any city with an L&L's is a city I could enjoy visiting!
Lobster, crab cakes, clam bakes and probably the most scrumptious...kielbasa with peppers and onions outside Fenway Park before a Red Sox game...ah...Boston!
Glad you had a good tri to Boston! The food looks absolutely de-lish. I would love to o there someday and check out all the old historical things! How awesome that your mom was able to come out...what a woman! :)
Holy cow, we did NONE of those things when we went to Boston. You gave me a bunch of new ideas. I guess this means one thing- we must go back to Boston!
All of the sudden I feel like I'm starving to death!...
Glad you made it back safe and sound and that you had a delicious trip! I missed you!
Boston does have some awesome food. On our way back from Ireland we stopped in Boston to visit my parents. We went to Mike's Pastry too. YUMMY! Looks like you had a blast. And by the way, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! :)
Oooh! Boston is now on my top 10 list of places to see (and eat in) before I die! Looks like a fun trip.
We'd like to go there someday along with New York. Cam's cousin Michael is there going to school in Boston and my really good friend is from there. Seems like there are so many things to do. I think I'm like you on the food thing. It all looks soooo ono!
I love moms! They are always there to help whenever we need it. And I can't forget...I have to thank our dads who let us borrow our moms.
hmmmmmmmm. we need to talk like asap.... call me
I'm so glad you guys had a good time! Now we just need to schedule a second trip sometime together, so Daniel and I can try out Giacomo's, and we can finally get you the "real" Boston cream pie (I was so sad you missed it, but I must say, the pictures of the desserts you ended up with looked mighty fine!)
Isn't it just an awesome place, though? I love your lighthouse pictures!
so jealous of your food part of the trip and especially the opera!
that's hilarious-when we were in Boston, I had the butternut squash from that restaurant and then the chocolate chip cannoli from Mike's. And I would highly recommend it to everyone :) Isn't Boston AMAZING! It is truly one of our favorite places! I am so glad that you and Taber got to go!
