A Favre FHE
A few months ago Taber bought us some tickets to a Vikings game. At the time Brett Favre wasn't even a blip on our radar. Well then of course he signed on to play with the Vikings and suddenly our tickets to the Vikings vs. Packers game became a pretty hot item. We thought about selling them but at the end of the day I thought, "Geez, if people are willing to pay that much to go to this game, it must be worth going to!!" So we held onto the tickets and I'm SO glad we did.
This was my first NFL experience and HOLY COW!! I've never experienced football like that before. I mean, I thought the cougar fans could get intense but those Vikings fans are C-R-A-Z-Y!! Case in point, this guy I'm standing with in the picture below. Notice the NFL tatoo on his bicep. Yeah, these fans are intense!!! The stadium was sold out and the fans were on their feet the whole time, cheering and booing with every play like it was a rock concert. Of course they were all pretty drunk from the tailgating which made for some pretty colorful moments. : )
Here's a pic of the concourse jam packed with all the fans. We went the wrong way to get to our seats and it took us almost 40 minutes to navigate the crowd. Good thing we came early!
Once inside we got pretty excited when we saw that our seats were on the third row. We had an awesome view of the field and in the second picture below you can see good old Favre, number 4, getting ready to make a play.

Can you see the excitement in Taber's eyes? I'm telling you, that stadium was buzzing with energy. The rivalry between the two teams, the legend on the field, it was all the makings for a great game.
Also kind of cool, right below us was a VIP section on the field and a bunch of players from the Minnesota Twins were sitting there. They went on to win a big game tonight in the same Metrodome!
The Vikings had an awesome game with some great plays and emotional moments. We bonded with our seat mates, jumped, cheered, screamed, yelled, sang, danced and just had a really good time. Favorite quote of the night: When we were walking to the stadium, an insanely drunk guy at the tailgating party was staggering around, shouting in heavily slurred speech, "We'll take Brett Favre if they don't want em!" Heck yes we will! I know I haven't been a big NFL fan in the past but things are changing because I've finally found my team! Skol Vikings!!

I love that you guys always seem to have a great time no matter what you do...I could never get Chad to pose for pictures with me at any kind of public event! Way to stay young and document the great moments in your life!
Lucky!! Justin's gonna die when he reads this.:) We spent the evening at Justin's parents house last night just so he could watch the game. That Favre.. holy cow. He is amazing. You guys lucked out on those tickets buying them early, nice job!
p.s. I cannot believe the NFL tattoo on that guys arm! Really, that is nuts.
Dude I am still so jealous, and I didn't even know before that your seats were so INSANELY AWESOME!!! That looks like it was so much...Cam is going to flip when he sees how close you guys were.
I tell you...Taber is one lucky guy. He needs to tell Cameron his secret to his winning ways. :)
Yea for y'all!!!
Looks like so much fun!
Stephan loved working at the Titans games...don't know if we'll ever pay to see them b/c he got to go for free and be on the field-but it looks like you got some amazing seats!
Aaron and his Dad scored free tickets to the game the day of, and said the same things. It was insane. They had some sweet seats too, and said the fans all around them were CRAZY! and I'm sure the alcohol helped. What a game to start you NFL experience.
That looks like sooo much fun! Favre is one of my favorites!! And how lucky that you guys got such great seats!! I think Utah needs to get a FB team!! haha. BTW, you guys are so cute; you still look like newly weds!!
Anytime :) We love you guys too! And the Chipotle was super yum.
Uht ohh....Becca's been drinking the purple cool-aid...turning into a Viking! It would be pretty hard not becoming a fan after going to THAT game.
You weren't kidding when you said crazy fans, were you!? I bet that guy spent hours getting ready, let alone in the tattoo parlor ;) Love the pics - they say a thousand words.... so glad you two had so much FUN!
I can't believe you guys were at that game! Daniel and I watched some of it on TV, and I was thinking the same thing about the Vikings fans - they looked super crazy/intense! What a fun date!
Think ya coulda gotten tickets a little closer to the action?
The dude with the tat, looks an awful lot like many of the female Danish teachers who backpack and teach in Thailand for a few months at a time.
I think the heat and humidity starts making their armpit hairs all gnarly and they can only handle a few months at a time!
Once in a lifetime experience this game...you were there. (Unless Brett retires again and comes back when he's 60...again)
Wow! That looked like an awesome night. Great seats too! I have never been to a pro game either and I really want to experience one. Love that you guys are decked out in Vikings gear!
Oh man that seriously looks like a good time! Glad you guys got to go.
Unbelievable! Seriously I'm thinking about moving us out of Utah because our sports teams are so crappy. We don't even have an NFL team. I'm so jealous of you guys! I'm reading this post, and Tara is sitting next to me and I'm sorry all I can say is "I hate them" but I don't. You guys are awesome. I was so happy with that game. I've been a Brett Favre fan for a few years now. His personal history is really interesting/inspiring. He just seems like a good guy, and I'm a fan of that when you're so rich, and talented and famous; so yeah huge man crush. Anyway thanks for the blog post and the vicarious living. :)
How fun! I've always wanted to go to a pro football game. You guys are rocking the Vikings jerseys!
Haha I love that you can go up to any ol' random big scary dude and ask to pose with him. That's so you. Way to go on choosing the thousand dollar experience over the thousand dollars. Looks like you had a blast.
You guys are so cute! Looks like fun.
Wow!! Lucky!!! Love the pic of the tattoo dude!
