At the ER her temp was down to 103.5 but they were still very concerned. After 3 hours and some heavy doses of Tylenol and Motrin her fever came down to 101 and they let us go home but told us to see the Dr. as soon as possible. Her fever was above 103 when we went to the Doctor yesterday morning. It turns out that even after being on antibiotics for 9 days her ears have gotten worse and the right one looked like it was about to rupture. They gave her a shot of their strongest antibiotic and told us to come back for two more shots.
I gave her a luke warm bath to try to cool her down a bit. When Taber got home we spent the evening taking turns holding her because it broke our hearts to put her down. When we finally put her to bed I set my alarm to wake up every 4 hours to give her more medicine. At 4 in the morning I went to get her and for the first time in almost 3 days her skin didn't feel like it was on fire. I checked her temp and it was down to 101.8.
This morning her fevers have stayed under 102. We're going into the Doctor's to get another shot today and I'm optimistic that things will just keep getting better. Please keep her in your prayers, I know they help!

Oh the poor thing. That just breaks my heart. I know Maile was sick a few months back with a 103 temp and was so lathargic and weak. You feel so helpless. I hate that feeling. Brinley's in my prayers. When Maile's fever was high, the doc had me rotate between tylenol and motrin every 3 hours. That seemed to help a lot.
Poor Brinley! That is definitely the saddest I have ever seen her! I hope these shots work and that she is feeling much better soon, so you can all get some sleep and return to normal! Let us know if you need anything!
It breaks my heart to see her so sick. Every picture of her is usually smiling. I hope she gets better soon, our prayers are with her.
Ugh, this post made me cry! It is so scary when little kids are sick with a high fever like that. How heartbreaking, and i'm sure you and Taber would do anything to take on the sickness for her. We will keep Brinley and your family in our prayers. I hope she's on the way to recovery.
My heart is breaking just looking at the pictures! I can't imagine how you and Taber must feel! I'm glad that things are looking better and hope she's back to feeling like herself soon!
Her poor little arms LOOK like lava in the first photo! Poor Brin...Feel better kid.
That is so sad! And hard to deal with as a mom I am sure. You feel so bad for them. I hope she is ok and gets over the ear issues. Good luck and I am so sorry.
Grandma's poor little girl. I just want to hold her and kiss it all better. Our thoughts and prayers are with our little Brinley and Mom and Dad too. We love you! Hang in there.
Hugs and Kisses

Poor little sweetie! Tylenol has never done much good for either of my kiddos...we're a Motrin family. When they get this bad, we usually double up on Tylenol and Motrin. Hope she feels better soon!
I feel so bad for Brinley! and for you too, there's nothing worse than having a sick baby AND not being able to 'fix' them. Sounds like she's on the mend and hopefully with the weather warming up, no more ear infections!
It is always sad to see a little one so sick, especially when their entire personality changes. I hope she is doing better, I have been in your shoes enough to be exhausted for you!
Poor little girl! I always think it's the saddest thing when my little cheeful babies get sick and they are such good sports but they just want to lay down and be held. How scary to have such a high fever!! All my kids have been cycling through something weird (they all have different symptoms), and I thought Henry escaped it, but he's had a fever now since Monday night. The highest his got was 102.7 yesterday, and it seems to be coming down a little bit, so I'm realizing it could have been a lot worse. We'll be praying for Brinley and you!
Oh Becca! That is always so scary! Darren was hospitalized at 3 mo. for a high fever and I was terrified! Turned out fine and I'm glad to hear Brinley is doing better now too. It's just scary when you're in the midst of it. She looks so miserable in those pics. Sweet little thing!
So glad Brinley is doing so much better. I know what you mean about a sick baby breaking your heart.
Glad she's back to her happy self.
