Snip Snip Chop Chop!

Yesterday was kind of a big day for haircuts in our family. Teya cut her hair for the first time ever, and I cut my hair short for the first time in 10 years.

We took Teya to this really cool place that specializes in haircuts for little kids. She was very nervous and started crying when they brought out the scissors.

Luckily they were used to dealing with that sort of thing, so they had the bubble blower come blow bubbes. That kept Teya happy for awhile. Then she started crying again. This time they brought over a puzzle that she could work on while her hairdresser snipped away.

They even had tv's at each hair cutting station that helped keep her distracted
In the end we only took off about 3 inches. Just enough to even out the front and back.
Still, it was her very first haircut so we had to document it.
I took off a little more than 3 inches. 12 to be exact. I've had the same hair since my senior year of high school and it was time for a change.

I donated my hair to locks of love and because of that the salon gave me my haircut for free! Kind of a cool little bonus. : ) Every time I look in the mirror I'm still a little surprised. It'll definitely take some getting used to. Even at church today Teya's teacher couldn't find me because she didn't recognize me with my new hair. Still, I'm loving the change and glad I finally took the plunge and tried something new!p.s. oh yeah, and Taber likes it! always a plus! : )

Becca, seriously. Now I'm convinced you would look knockout no matter what you do! Change is fun. I'm going long for now... at least until the baby's born and a haircut lasts longer than a couple of weeks with the prenatals :).

Wow! Seriously it looks amazing on you! Glad Taber likes it ;)

You look great! Of course I adore short hair, so I'm a bit biased, but really, it looks wonderful on you!

I took Makenzie to a place like that when she was 2 to get her first haircut - lifesaver! I think she's due again!

Your hair looks great. You would be gorgeous with any haircut, but you definitely rock that a-line! I also cut my hair short a couple of weeks ago (it's an a line too, just jaw length) and I love how quick it is to dry and style my hair. Isn't it weird when you're washing your hair and your hand just slips right off where the hair used to be?

Becca,
Dad and I both think you look so classy and gorgeous! What a fun place to take Teya for her first haircut. I wish they had plaaces like that when you kids were little.
I love you!

Your hair is seriously SO CUTE!! Teya looks adorable too...what a fun place. I think it is going to be a while before I get Miley's hair cut even though she could probably use it already!

I'm so glad you got a hair cut...don't mean to sound crude, but based on the entry title, I thought Taber got some late-in-life-sharp-edge-ouchy-area action.

Soooo happy you were referring to a hair cut!

It looks super nice!

Becca,
Your hair looks so cute. It is a great change for you! Seeing the side by side pictures - I love the short style. It just frames your face so nicely and somehow brightness up your face - I don't know if I quite got that point across. Either way I love it! But if you are like me - I can never get it to look like it did the day they styled it! Good thing you got a picture!

I've been looking around for somewhere to take Elena (James isn't allowed near her hair after his last fiasco) but the only places like that around here seem to be in Franklin. I haven't seen any in Murfreesboro. But I'm also too chicken to let anyone near her hair!

ahhh! What a great place... we desperately need to find a salon like that... harper is looking very "unkept" He won't let us touch his hair the little stink! I can't believe how long Teya's hair was! She looks adorable, and your new hair cute is soooo fun! I love it! You are gorgeous!

Wow-wee! You look great:) I love it! Soo soo pretty. Of course, I loved your long hair but you look great. I'm guessing I need a change too. I've never had my hair shorter than my shoulders...but ahhh, so scary! haha. I think you look "model-esque" either way. Cute cute. Teya did a good job and looks as cute as ever!

You both look fabulous! Yours is the haircut I have tried to get many times and just never turns out right! I am in the mood for a change myself and you have inspired me once again Becca!

Wow! So beautiful! That must feel weird to have all that hair gone. I love the before and after shots - you look like a model in both of them.
