Teya got to bring one of her really good friends, Maddie, to the General Mills party. This was the day after our trunk or treat so she was still pretty cool with the pirate costume. The party was held at the headquarters and there were tons of neat booths, games, treats, and activities for the kids. Teya enjoyed the candy and the chaos, but she had more fun just running around and chasing her friend.
Brinley traded out her monkey costume for a bunny just to keep things fresh. Maddie was a bunny too so we had to take a bunny picture.

Another part of our Halloween festivities included pumpkin painting. We carved pumpkins last year, but Teya couldn't really be involved with that. This year we thought painting would be more hands on, although it got a little more hands on than we intended. What can you do? She's a two year old!

When Halloween finally rolled around Teya simply would not put on her pirate costume. Luckily Grandma Rigg had bought matching monkey suits for the girls so Teya had a back up plan. We thought it would be cute if they were both Monkeys but Teya wanted the monkey spotlight to herself so Brinley went as a bunny. We went trick-or-treating with Teya's two best girlfriends and their families. Teya enjoyed herself but after two or three houses she just wanted to sit down and eat her candy. After every house she would say, " I eat this now?" When we got home I think she had more candy in her tummy than her bag, but she had fun and at the end of the day, that's what counts right?

That was so funny to read - we also had the Halloween marathon (trick or treating 3 times).
I was so happy to see Teya was a pirate because Makenzie is also way into pirates. She wants a pirate birthday party (she'll be 3 on the 28th). Too bad you guys don't live near us, Teya could come all decked out to the party (maybe she would be into her costume again by then!)=)
Ok, the pictures on my last post were good because Justin's sister took them with her big expensive Canon. I think it's a Rebel, but maybe an SLR? I can't remember. All I know is it was really expensive and it takes really awesome pictures. I want one. Bad.
Such cute pics! Sounds like you've been celebrating Halloween for a month like we have been.
Teya is such a smart girl...she knows what she wants and she did have an awesome back-up plan!
Now if WE could just stay out of the candy. Funny thing, SHE prefers the candy stuff rather than the chocolate. So, I just help her out with that. :-)
Sounds like a very busy Halloween! Glad you had a back-up for the pirate costume. Isn't it funny how they can be so feisty and opinionated at 2? The girls both looked adorable, in their many costumes!
We really want them to use their own minds and have their own ideas, right? That's what I have to keep telling myself when they don't do what I had in mind.
Don't know why, but I laughed my butt off at the Carrot! Ha Ha!
Anyway, I love the pics dude...especially all the ones with Brinley. She looks a lot like Taber did when he was informed that he would be a Pirate for Halloween!:)
your kid is a good pirate... awesome.
Too Fun! I love the pumpkin painting pics!! hahaha!
I love the frizzy hair! What a doll! And that sweet bunny, CUTIE PIE!
That was how it was for us this year too! By the time Halloween came we had been an elephant too many times! She kept trying to take the costume off and was successful at our ward trick or treat! Good thing Teya was able to compromise as a monkey! She looked adorable as one!
You have a SPICEY one don't you? First your description of her, and then reading about her! You can just see it in her little face, painting the pumpkin. And then her spunky smile is just so fun. Teya is so full of personality! Just like you! Both your girls looked darling!!
