A Great Week Comes to an End

Today I dropped my sister Naomi off at the airport to go back home after spending a wonderful week together. Omi is only 2 years younger than me and as a result we have always been very close. It was so much fun having her out here with her little daughter Booklyn and seeing what an awesome mom she is. She may be younger than me but I've always looked up to her and this week was no different as I learned a lot things about parenting from my little sis. She is beautiful inside and out and we will all miss her wonderful spirit in our home! Here are a few of the pics from our week together. Teya and Brinley loved having their cousin Brooklyn around to play with. She is almost 9 months old and the most mobile little thing I have ever seen! She also loves to make happy noises and Teya would laugh her head off at Brooklyn's enthusiastic "Woo Woo Wooing"
Enjoying the leaves at Weaver Lake
Naomi got to join me for "Super Saturday" at our church where we sewed little "I Spy Bags" and made designer wipe cases. I haven't touched a sewing machine since I failed my 7th grade sewing class so I was glad to have Naomi there to guide me through.

While she was here we got to take a tour of Taber's work at the General Mills World Headquarters. I took my dad there before he left so I threw in some pictures with him too. Taber's work is so cool because they have an on site fitness center, hair salon, General Mills grocery store, dental hygienist, pharmacist, concierge, gas station, oil changing place, you name it! We grabbed some cool Wheaties and Lucky Charms shirts at the gift shop but forgot to take our pictures in them!
Over the weekend we went back to the Mall of America but this time Taber and Teya were there. Teya had a great time on all the rides and even got to see her favorite person ever, Dora the Explorer! We ate at the rainforest cafe again and Teya got her picture with the tree frog.

And yesterday we went back to the Mall of America one last time to hit their underground aquarium. There were sharks and sea turtles and all kinds of awesome fish. Teya and Brooklyn got to touch some sting rays and they were both pretty impressed.
So that is about it for our time with Omi and Brooklyn. Thanks for coming out Omi and thank you to her husband Kevin for graciously letting me have both of your girls for so long!

Looks like a ton of fun! And do you get to use the GM hair salon? When we named our oldest BrookLyn (after my sisters middle names, Brooke and Lyn)we thought we were being SO creative. That summer we heard it EVERYWHERE, and it's only gotten more popular. How did your sister come up with it?

Mall of America is awesome. I flew up there with a friend from high school one time just to go shopping there.
It's more awesome to have your sister in town for the week though!
Very cute girls!
Anna would love the frilly dresses, by the way. The frillier the better she thinks. The frilliest she wants to wear to Walmart.

Oh sad, sorry they left! It's always a bummer when family leaves! But it looks like you guys had a blast! I would have loved to see Teya's face when she saw Dora, I bet it was priceless!

i didn't know that you were only 2 years apart. you learn something new everyday.

sounds like you guys had loads of fun! i love it when we have family over...and its always sad when we have to say good bye. its always like were on a high, always doing something keeping busy and then all of a sudden....rock bottom. fun and excitement get shot back down to a minimum with just mommy and na'u...and daddy when he's not working :). the kids are so cute together. na'u loves to have kids around. fun times.

I am not kidding when I say I want to go to that mall of America! It looks so cool.
I read your comment to Dave about coming and seeing us over Thanksgiving. He was so excited! So, you guys better not forget about us... we are totally planning on it!

Ashlee: Spouses get to use all the little GM perks so I can get my hair done at the salon and also use the gym which is awesome! As far as the name Brooklyn goes, my sister loves nature names so she liked the name Brook. And her hubby served his mission in Brooklyn so that's where they came up with the name.

Alida: If you ever do make it up here we are SO having a Dora playdate with our girls at the mall of america!

Jodi: We will TOTALLY be there over thanksgiving! My mom lives in Pleasant Grove so we won't be too far from you guys! Can't wait to see you and your cute family!

That's so great to be so close with your siblings! I didn't get a sister til I was 16, so we're just not close. We never lived in the same house. It makes me sad. Even though you live far, you still seem so close to your sistas! What a great blessing!

I've always wanted to go to the Mall of America. Sounds amazing!!
