On the morning of the Easter egg hunt we got Teya all dolled up, loaded her in the car, and drove the 20 minute drive to church. On the way there she was really fussy. I just thought she was being cranky but figured she would cheer up once she saw all the kids and the eggs.
When we got to the church they had everyone meet in the gym for a little Easter message before the egg hunt. When we took our seats in the gym Teya, who is normally miss independent, wouldn't let me put her down. She kept saying things like, "I baby please (which means hold me like a baby) Mommy hold me, I want night night! I go home." I was definitely worried at that point, but then I started getting really nervous when she said, "Belly hurt Mama, ouchie belly, kiss it peeze!" She was lying in my arms at this point and lifted up her shirt for me to kiss her belly. I knew it wouldn't make the problem better but I kissed that little belly anyway wishing mommies really did have the power to heal everything with a kiss. After a few more minutes of whining and begging for kisses I put her down to grab something from my purse and just as the opening song started she puked all over the floor. Taber rushed to her side, picked her up and grabbed her easter basket just in time to catch the next round of puke. The poor girl kept throwing up all the way out the door.
We got things cleaned up as best we could and then left before Teya got to see one Easter egg. We felt so bad that she had to leave, but she was actually in a much better mood after getting that out of her system. She kept saying "I sick, Daddy fix it! Daddy wipe it! sick all better now!"
Despite feeling better in the car, her tummy was sick for the rest of the day and she hardly ate a thing. Luckily her bug only lasted about 24 hours and the next day we had our own little Easter egg hunt in the house to make up for missing out the day before. Watching her run around the house and giggle as she picked up eggs, all the sick tummy trouble was forgotten and Teya still ended up having a very fun and happy Easter.

Poor Teya--belly hurts stink!
But, I'm glad she got over it quickly.
Poor girl! I'm glad she feels better and had her own Easter egg hunt!
Oh, how sad! Especially after getting all ready and making the drive. At least she got to do a fun one at home. Our ward didn't do a hunt this year for some reason, and Tristan was super excited to do one at home - he kept saying it was way better than last year's at the church because he got to find more than 15 eggs.
Poor little Teya Tot! I love Teya's cute stories... sorry this one's about being sick :).
Oh, what a bummer! But many cute memories stored! I am sure all the kids at the church will never forget Teya now that she MARKED her TERRITORY! I wish those Mamma kisses did really have the power to take all the ouchies away but at least they give comfort! I am glad you could have your own little family Easter egg hunt! Those are the best anyway.
Oh that makes me sad for her! I hate throwing up more than anything! Cute pictures of the egg hunt. Mya is still clueless about holidays and what to do. Hopefully by her b-day she will understand what to do with presents! hee hee
That is so sad! I am glad that she got over it quickly! Oh you guys handled the puking on the gym floor better than I would have. Way to go!
So, I guess her basket got more than it bargained for! Quick thinking on Taber's part. Such an unfortunate occurance on a holiday occasion. At least you made up for it at home and got the hunt in. Sorry she was so sick. Her little language is adorable!
Oh... bummer for Teya! Lucky it didn't last long. That's miserable. Glad she got to enjoy some Easter fun the next day. She's too cute!
