Three Things Thursday

So one of the blogs I read does this Three Things Thursday deal where every Thursday they post about 3 random things. And even though Thursday is almost over, I'm going to be a copy cat and do it too. Here are my 3 things in no particular order:

1) The last Christmas decorations standing:

I put away all the Christmas decorations the day after New Year's but I still can't bring myself to take down everyone's Christmas cards. Seeing the faces of so many people I love, smiling at me every time I walk by just gives me the warm fuzzies. Thank you so much to everyone who sent us one! They really do warm my heart. : )  One more week, then I swear I'll take them down : )

2) Fun with Jenga

We got the girls Jenga for Christmas and I'm impressed with all the ways they use it to entertain themselves.

They love building domino type structures to knock over

And they love testing their ability to concentrate and hold still while Taber builds towers on their foreheads.

Brinley is the absolute champion of Jenga meditation. While Teya squirms and giggles, Brinley holds still as stone and lets her mind go to her "happy place" (When Taber asked her what her happy place was she said, "Chuck E Cheese." ; )

3) An Unusually warm winter

Besides one random snowstorm in October, his has been an incredibly mild winter. We didn't get any snow until last week and even that has melted.  I know Teya is upset that she hasn't been able to play in the snow and Taber is itching to build another igloo, but I certainly don't mind that the kids can still play outside on the trampoline in January.

(also if you're wondering about their pink eyelids, they were having a playdate and decided to give themselves makeovers, hence the pink eyeshadow : )

I would have a hard time taking those Christmas cards down, too- your door looks really cool like that!
We got Jenga for Christmas from some friends and Jarom is all about that game, too. I LOVE Brinley's meditation picture, that girl is CONCENTRATED! And funny. Chuck E Cheese made me laugh out loud.
And I know, it has been the mildest winter here, too and I'm LOVING it. Love those static hair pictures, so classic!

Wow...Brinley is FOCUSED! That is seriously impressive. And gotta love the static hair from the trampoline! Keep enjoying the mild winter! We have been having a mild winter, too, until yesterday when we got slammed with a high of like, 1 degree. Painful...

wow, maybe If I had that many Christmas cards I'd hate to take them down too :)

Brinley is awesome! Maybe I should try this with my kids when they get too rowdy, it's like a fail proof "quiet game" (you know, let's see who can be quiet the longest)

You are not alone, my friend. I can't seem to bring myself to take down the Christmas cards either. I love Brinley's "Jenga mind trick", I will have to try that with my boys to see who can sit still the longest!

That's so funny about the Christmas cards because I'm the same way! I have them taped to the back of my front door and it's nice to see everyone before I leave :)

And I love the trampoline hair!!!

I finally found your blog again! I've been keeping up with you through FB posts, but lost your blog address when I got a MAC. YAY! I'm happy to see all your great pics again! Your family is so adorable! And I couldn't take my cards down until a couple days ago! That's my favorite decoration as well!

Love the Christmas card door - that looks seriously cool. And now I want to buy Jenga for my kids - I can see Daniel doing that exact thing and trying to stack on the kids' heads. Brinley's expression of stillness and concentration is THE BEST! I love her. So funny that Chuck-e-Cheese is her place of happiness. Also the love the trampline pictures - Teya's wild static hair is super impressive - I think your family was blessed with superb hair genes - you and your girls have such gorgeous hair.
