Stuck in the Middle

Lately I've noticed Brinley kind of struggling with her new role as the middle child. I think it's tough because Teya is doing so many big girl things and starting kindergarten and just has a personality that demands a lot of attention.  Cam also gets lots of attention by default since he's the baby and can't do anything by himself. So that leaves Brinley stuck in the middle.

While she enjoys doing big girl things with Teya, I think what she really longs for is to be the baby again.

In fact, I think she's launching an "I'm the baby" campaign by casually taking over Camden's baby items.

It started with the the bumbo seat which is now her go to sitting chair.

She'll even stack it on her Dora chair for a boost.

I also found her in Cam's high chair the other day.

 And his car seat

And his exersaucer

She really liked the exersaucer and tries to high jack it whenever he's not around.

She also loves the baby swing and will sit in there for hours

I don't have the heart to tell her to get out or that she's too big for those things.
It's hard being the middle kid, but I hope she knows she'll always be my baby, no matter how big she gets.

aww that's so sad and so cute all at the same time. I feel the same way with Elena. But since she's much older than Brinley she's not trying to hijack the baby's stuff. I do feel like I'm ignoring her especially when I need a looong nap. I can't wait for her to start school the day after Labor day so I won't feel so guilty. Ethan has been in school for 2 weeks already so I know she feels lonely and ignored when mom is so busy with the baby.

Those pictures are so hilarious...she really does love all the baby stuff! The last one is so dang cute...little Brinsey passed out in the swing. LOL. I can relate a little bit...Miley keeps saying she wants to be back in "her" crib, and she wants to play with all of Landon's toys, etc. I am sure she will enjoy some extra time with you, while Teya is at school and such. I just love that little smile of hers!

Oh Poor Brinley! I can only imagine the hard times to come for us when our new baby arrives. I already know that it's going to be a hard transition for our Tristan. But it's nice to know that these types of phases don't last forever...well we hope anyway. My dad always says my sister never got over me being the baby! haha. You'll have to ask her how she's taken it. heehee.

BTW, I sold that infant grass outfit for $50. Let me know if you guys are serious and want to talk designs & colors;0)

Awww! Trevor and Kade switch off being the "middle child" at times. It really helped Trevor when we put him in Tae Kwon Do. Though we have contemplated putting one of the other boys in, I kind of like the fact that it is something that is all his and he feels special...and one ultimate fighter in the family is plenty if you ask me! I was also a middle child so I know how that feels, the best thing my mom did for me was to cuddle me and tell me I was special, which I am sure you are awesome at doing with Brinley!

She is such a sweetheart! I love all the pics of her squishiness crammed into little baby things. That last one of her sleeping is especially awesome. Henry has the opposite problem - he just wants to be one of the big kids all the time. You are a good mom to be sensitive to her middle-child syndrome - once I have a new baby, I'm not good at remembering the tender little feelings of my next one up.

You have no idea how much I can relate with little Brinley :) It IS really hard being in the middle!

She is sweet. Tell Brinley she can stay with Uncle Tau if she gets tired of being in the middle. She is cute. By the way, glad nothing too serious happened your way with the crazy weather.
