Adventures With Daddy

With the weather getting warmer, Taber has started a new tradition where he takes Teya on daddy/daughter "adventures" as soon as he gets home from work. It's a great arrangement because it gives me a chance to cook dinner without a toddler hanging on my leg, and it gives Teya and Taber some very nice bonding time. Teya has learned the routine now and when she hears Taber's car pull into garage she gets all excited, grabs her shoes, and says, "bye mommy!"

Usually their adventures involve walks around the neighborhood, picking flowers,(dandilions and weeds) throwing rocks into the "waterfall" (fountain by the model home) climbing "moutains" (the giant dirt mound by the pool construction site) and best of all, looking for ants (she is obsessed with bugs!) She comes home and hands me her treasures (usually dandilions or small rocks) and enthusiastically proclaims, " Mommy I go on a venture!!!"

(The follwing pics aren't actually from her neighborhood adventures with Daddy, we took them at a local park today, but I thought they give a pretty good idea of her bonding time with Dad)

Feeding the ducks at the Discovery Center

Investigating a spider web

Posing at the waterfall

Daddy is so much fun!!

Hey Becca! Cute blog, and cute pictures! It's fun keeping in touch with people this way.
Just a side note, on your past post. I had two epidural deliveries and two natural deliveries. I LOVED the natural deliveries, but I go quick. I chose to do natural with my last two because I got a spinal headache from the epidural from the first two. I had a migraine for 2 weeks after delivery and it sucked. After the natural two I felt fabulous afterward and I felt like I could conquer the world!

Becca,
These pictures are awesome! I especially love the "posing at the waterfall" pic. Wow, Teya is growing up so fast. She is such an adorable little girl. Well, I love seeing your pictures, they're always so fun and uplifting. I hope everything is going ok with you guys. Maybe someday we'll be able to meet up, the next time you're in Utah. We would LOVE to get together with you guys. Okay, take care! Love ya, Mer :o)

I am little behind on the blogging world- so this comment is for three of your posts! Number 1- cute daddy pictures. Why are dads so much more fun? I love how excited Callie gets when Dave gets home. Number 2- Good luck with the drugs things. I don't have any advice except from my experience with the epidural with Callie. It was fine and I loved it- maybe your experience was a fluke? Number 3- I love the idea of the blog book! Thanks for sharing- I'm going to check it out :)

How fun! I love how she calls them adventures. Daniel takes turns with the kids on Saturdays, taking them out for little dates that they call "Special Days." They all get very excited for when it's their Special Day with Dad. Lizzy's never been on one, and I never knew she was aware of them, but just last Saturday (Rachel was out with Daniel), she came and asked me if she could "go on a special with daddy".

P.S. Very cute pictures, by the way.

I love that special bonding time. That's great that Taber is so on board and willing. What a great relationship they'll have. Great pictures too.
