1) I busted my knee today
It happened so quick, I was getting out of my car and I slipped and fell and my knee slammed hard into a metal rod. It hurt so bad my eyes welled up with tears and I couldn't stand up for a minute. I rolled up my pants to look at it and right away it was bruised and swollen and throbbing with pain. If I wasn't at the peak of marathon training, this would just be one of those annoying things that make you feel clumsy. However, with a 19 miler on deck tomorrow I'm kind of freaking out and hoping it doesn't end up being a huge set back. The swelling has gone down but it's still super sore and hurts when I bend it all the way or go up and down the stairs. I've been icing it all day so I'm going to try to run on it tomorrow and see how it goes. So so frustrating : (
2) Dance parties = best workout ever
Tonight the Draschils came up and the boys went to the Celitcs game while the girls stayed home and had a dance party. We blasted music and the kids went nutso while Melinda and I busted out our raddest moves. My knee definitely held me back but I still broke a sweat and burned me some calories. Here's a sweet sampling of our dance workout from last time they came up before Christmas. I think we're going to make dance parties a mandatory tradition every time we get together : ) (also, even though I look like a spaz in the video, in my mind I was totally rockin' it! )
3) Teya Discovered Fatbooth on my phone. Good times : )

Oh Becca! I am so sorry about your knee. I hope it feels much better tomorrow. I would keep putting ice on it for 15-20 minute intervals. Don't try to run on it if it is really swollen without getting it cleared by the Doc first. You could do more damage. Teya is hilarious! Tell her Grandma laughed so hard when she saw her picture. Take care of yourself!
Hugs and Loves!
Mom
Haha! Teya is such a ham. Just like her mommy... so funny. That stinks you hurt your knee. I hope it heals in time for your marathon. You look amazing by the way. You are teeny tiny. Great dancing too. Can't wait until we get to have a dance party with the Riggs and Noa can show off some of his super hero break dancing moves. Love you guys!
Ha ha ha ha ha! Dying over here at the pictures of Teya! What a funny girl! Love the dance party...I love dance parties. They kill time, give you a workout, and they are fun! I am so sorry about your knee! I hope it heals up quick and you are back to your maniac running ways!
Dude 19 miles...you guys amaze me. I think I used to do that distance on my mission...walking. :)
Ouch!
I wanna come to your dance party!
haha @ Teya sooo funny , made my day.
Oh my word, Teya! hahaha I'm lovin that first one.
Okay. The knee. NOOOOO!! You have been so awesome at avoiding injury and then something like that happens. Sheesh. Crossing my fingers for you that it heals super fast and doesn't cause any problems. You know what's really weird? I didn't have something that bad happen, but in my spin class yesterday, I totally tripped because I didn't realize the floor had a step and I just straight-leg jammed my right leg and it hurt my shin SOOO bad, I was glad the music was still going because I totally cried out in pain. I couldn't even run today. I think since my shins were iffy, they were like ticking time bombs so yeah... that was not good. Hopefully we both heal quickly.
And love the dance party, we do that a lot around here, too. :) Justin and I think we are so cool, it's good for our egos. :) haha...
Well I'll be anxious to see if you can run tomorrow, but just remember that if you can't it will be ok! I had a huge setback in my training (like 3 weeks off!) and I still ran the marathon.
Loved the sweet dance moves! I secretly wish my family was less inhibited so we could record ourselves having awesome dance parties, but alas, Chad would look at me like I had a second head if I suggested such a thing! I guess I will just have to live vicariously through you! I hope your knee feels better very very soon and that it doesn't affect your sweet dance moves too badly!
Yay for dance parties! I hope your knee is feeling better.
Ooh, I know I am late on this, but I am feeling so sad for your knee. I'm hoping it is already better and you can still run. I know if it were me I would totally give up and never run again (I'm all about excuses like that), but you are not at all, which is a good thing.
Love the dance party! And the funny thing is, we watched part of that game on TV (not sure why - maybe it was right before a Kings game (Jimmer!) and I told Daniel, "I wonder if Taber and Becca are there", and it turns out I was partly right.
And lastly - Teya! Those are the funniest pictures in the world. Oh, how my kids would love that.
