My Mom is the Bomb.com

Having my mom here after Camden was born was the best thing ever. She is seriously my idol, and having her here for 10 days was like a crash course apprenticeship on how to be AMAZING at everything you do. I watched in awe as she whirled through my house, cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, playing with the kids and working on projects. How on earth is anyone THAT productive all day? I'm still not sure, but someday I aspire to be just like my mom.

She can calm any baby and thanks to her skills I was able to take many greatly needed naps during the day. She also took him between 10pm and midnight a few times. Apparently he's decided that 10pm is party time so it was nice that she would "party" with him so I could get some Z's.

My mom is also an amazing cook. She made us so many yummy dinners and treated us to her legendary chocolate peanut butter fudge. The girls helped her make the fudge and we all helped lick the pot which brought back many fond childhood memories of doing the exact same thing.

I think the other thing that amazes me most about my mom is how she cleans like a maniac but still has down time to hold the baby, play with the girls, read a book or cook a meal. It's like, if I do one of those things I can't do anything else. But she seriously kept my house SOOO clean and washed and folded the laundry every other day. Like I said, the bomb.com.

While she was here she also got to volunteer at Teya's preschool for a day. The kids all loved her and fought over who got to sit with Mrs. Cindy. Teya was very proud to have her Grandma at school.

Teya also got to go on a special one on one date with Grandma where they went to lunch, shopped at the mall and painted a butterfly so she could have one to match Brinley's.

It was so wonderful having her here and very sad when she left. My first day on my own kind of kicked my butt. Especially after being so spoiled by my mom. I happen to have pictures of me at the beginning and end of that day. ( I normally don't sit and take pictures of myself but since I actually showered and did my hair that day thought I should document it. Then at night I looked in the mirror and it was so hilarious I had to take another pic.)

Um yeah, I got a little frazzled. : ) In my defense, Taber had an overnight scout activity so I was really REALLY all on my own that day (and night). Anyway, just goes to show I'm still far from reaching my mom's level of awesomeness but hopefully with her example to learn from, I'll get there someday.

Oh my goodness, those before and after pictures are AWESOME!!! and girl you have dropped that baby weight like a champ! Wow wow wow!! Can't wait to come out and go running with you and all our children-that will be an adventure for sure:) moms are the best! Maybe I should invite your mom to my house for a visit ;) also, I was showing Bree your blog and she kept asking "whos that mommy? Whos that?" pointing to the picture of your "after" shot! Hahaha. Also, we are having regular dance parties around here... Thanks for the idea. I think of you everytime I shake it!

It's weird...I really, for the life of me, can't figure out how she does it. I'm with you, I can only do one of those things each day and the rest goes to pot! Boy! I wish mom lived here!

Also, I love your before and after shot...mostly because I look like your after shot all day, EVERY DAY and I only have two kids!

I need some of your mom's energy over here! I feel like I am productive if I cook dinner one day, clean another, etc. But heck...all in one day would be a MIRACLE! :) Love the before and after shots...I can relate to the after shot. Pretty much how I feel 24/7 right now. But seriously...you are looking HOT! I like the long-ish hair again!

First of all, can your mom come visit me around---oh say the end of July??;) She sounds awesome! You're extremely fortunate to have her.

And, I just had to laugh at that before and after pic---Classic Mommy!

And, last but not least--you are a FABULOUS mommy!

Your before/after shots cracked me up! I think everyone but your mom feels that way!

I'm so glad your mom was able to come help. One day you will do the same thing for your girls :) and they will wonder how you do it too.

Love the before and after shots! I can't tell you how many days I've had like that lately, Chad has had to travel quite a bit and I am exhausted by the end of the day (and usually in the beginning). Nice to know that you are brave enough to take pictures. Me...not so much!

Hey Becca! So glad you had your mom helping you! And don't worry about your first day on your own--you are recovering from 9 months of crazy pregnancy, delivery and lack of sleep! And your house doesn't have to be immaculate--you have a newborn!

O Becca! What a blessing to have your mom there! My parents have been on a mission in Mexico for the last 17 months. They'll be back next month and I can't wait!!!Aren't mothers the best? I've really missed mine :) Oh man, I don't know what it is but #3 was so hard for me! It seemed to take FOREVER to get any sort of routine down. Hang in there, it DOES get easier! And...your after picture looks like a mugshot :) He he he.

Becca you are hysterical !! I love how you keep it real and show how most of us moms look at the end of the day!! Moms are the best but just remember she has had years of practice we will be just as amazing one day!!! So glad you got some help while your mom was there!!
