When Grandma Karen comes to visit you know that everyone is going to get a little spoiled. This last week "Queen Grandma" (as Teya calls her) took "princess Teya" (her new preferred title since Grandma came to town) to get her very first pedicure.

When we got there they told her to pick a color. We went to a wall with hundreds of bottles of nail polish, most of them varying shades of pink and red. Teya somehow found the blue one in that sea of red and couldn't wait to get her toes painted blue.

When she sat down her little legs could barely reach the water. I thought she would be scared but if Grandma was doing it than by golly she was going to do it too!

The guy who did her nails was so funny and cute with her. When he first touched her feet she flinched, but then declared, "I'M SO BRAVE!" He got such a kick out of that. Through out the whole pedicure he kept telling her, "you're so brave huh?"

The pedicure included some callous buffing and parafin wax dip, but after watching Grandma there was no way she was going to let them do that to her. So they painted her fingernails instead. When it was all over she was showing off her nails to anyone that would look and said, "I can't wait to show daddy, he's gonna lub it so much!"
Other highlights from Grandma's visit:
Visiting the Good Old Mall of America. For all the times we've been there I've still never made it past the first two floors. (There are 4)

Having an extra pair of hands to help out around the house. Seriously, it was pure bliss to be able to run errands, take a shower, cook dinner and work out without any interruptions.

Teya was in heaven having someone who was never too busy to play with her. They played with play dough, painted, colored, made foam creatures (above picture) played Queen and princess, put together puzzles and spent many hours playing with Teya's Dora memory game. By the end of the week Teya would wake up and go straight to Grandma's room without even bothering to say good morning to me. (who can blame her though, Grandmas are just too fun!)

And last but certainly not least, we got to eat at yummy restaurants, which means no cooking for me (yeah!) I love these last two pictures because Teya is just so happy in them. She really was overjoyed to have her Grandma in town.

Sadly Grandma left today and the house doesn't quite feel the same with her gone. We miss her so much but are so glad that she came. Thank you so much for being here Grandma Karen! We love you and can't wait for you to come out again!

How fun! I love the pictures of Teya getting a pedicure...I can't wait to do that with Miley someday! The Mall of America is definitely a trip....you could spend two full days there and still not get it all in!
That is so cute! Maile would go nuts to have a pedi mani. Someday when we're rich I guess!
grandma's are awesome. especially when they come to your own house...they don't have anything to do but help YOU and play with the kids.
Hilarious about the blue polish!
Wish y'all still lived here...Anna's girliness MAYBE could rub off on her. (we just picked out tinkerbell birthday invitations).
So fun!! I love her toenails!
I hope I look that good when I'm a grandma! :)
Man, Teya got totally spoiled! I know she loved it. Those blue toenails turned out really cute!
Grandmas are so nice to sit down and spend so much time with the kids. Makenzie has a Dora memory game, too (and a whole bunch of other games) and just wants me to play them with her all day. It would be great to pawn that job off on somebody else for a little while! :)
Thanks for your comment on the van, it totally made me laugh because Justin said the exact same thing about having the kid come do our lawn work this summer! We just love you, your comments are always the coolest.
You have given me a fantastic idea. I have always thought that Abigail was too little for a pedicure, thinking that her feet would not reach. She bites her fingernails (yes, her toenails too). She asked me just this morning if I would pay her a dollar if she would stop biting her fingernails and toenails. I think even better, we will get her a pedi.
Love you guys!
Your mom is beautiful! And Teya looks so happy in all the pictures - visits from Grandma are always the best.
I love how Teya chose blue!
soooo cute! Teya looks like she had a blast. I love her little cute chubby toes. Chenoa's really intrigued when I paint my toes, it's so funny:) I painted her nails glittery once and she kept saying "pretty!" haha. Teya's got such a fun grandma! I bet it was heaven, having some extra help!!
I love having Grandma's too!
Whoops. I just realized that is probably Taber's mom.
I swear Callie loves her Grandma more than me! It must be because they can devote all of the attention to them. I think it will be really fun to be a grandma one day!
I love that Teya picked out blue nail polish! She is one cute little sassy thing!
What an amazing grandmother. She really is quite remarkable. Teya sure is lucky.
I can't believe Teya got a pedicure!!! Too cute! I think my first pedicure was when I was 20 something, I tried to be brave, but I just don't think I like pedicures, I'm with Teya just paint the cute little toes :)
I love that she picked blue! What a crack up!
